Managing the Integrated Design Process
Description: Delivering green design and LEED projects presents a series of challenges to design professionals and owners. Underlying technical and cost challenges is the issue of collaborative decision-making and project management. Often, professionals focus on the techniques, technologies and “credits” without addressing the fundamental aspect of practice and management. LEED and other rating systems exist to answer the question “How green is my building?”, but until recently, no framework has existed to measure, “How green is my process?”. This workshop address integrative design and collaborative decision-making, project management and introduces participants to the new ANSI standard created to provide a concrete framework to practitioners to lay out a process for green design that supports green project strategies and aspirations.
