LEED™ Exam Prep & Implementation

Welcome to the LEED Exam Prep & Implementation Trainings Catalog. Browse the trainings below for opportunities to achieve LEED Accreditation and maintain your LEED credential, advance your skills in LEED Project Management, and build specific technical skills in daylighting and energy modeling.

Steps:

Trainings:

  1. LEED 101: Become a LEED Green Associate
  2. LEED 102: Become a LEED AP and Maintain Your Credential
  3. LEED 301: LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Training
  4. LEED 511: Daylight Modeling & Achieving LEED EQc8.1
  5. LEED 521: LEED EAc1 -- Energy Modeling & Optimizing Energy Performance
  6. Additional LEED Events

LEED 101: Become a LEED Green Associate

What is the LEED Green Associate credential? How will it help me professionally? Am I eligible to take the exam? How hard is it? What resources are there to help me pass the exam? How do I register for the exam? What are the requirements for maintaining the Green Associate credential?

Come to NEXUS for a 1-hr presentation on the new LEED Green Associate credential and how to pass the exam. Get answers to the above questions and bring questions of your own.

One (1.0) AIA Sustainable Design CEU will be offered for attending this seminar.

Register for this free session on March 3.

LEED 102: Become a LEED AP and Maintain Your Credential

What are the new LEED AP specialty designations? How will they differ from my current LEED AP status and what are the benefits? What resources are there to help me pass the exam? What are the requirements for maintaining the LEED AP Specialty credentials? If I'm a LEED Green Associate or LEED AP, what do I need to do to maintain my credential?

Come to NEXUS for a 1-hr presentation on the new LEED AP specialty designations and maintaining your LEED Credential. The new specialty exams include: Building Design and Construction (the old NC), Interior Design and Construction (the old CI), Operations and Maintenance (the old EBOM), Homes, and Neighborhood Development. Get answers to the above questions and bring questions of your own.

Refreshments will be served. One (1.0) AIA Sustainable Design CEU will be offered for attending this seminar.

Register for this free session on April 7.

LEED 511: Daylighting Modeling & Achieving LEED EQc8.1

This 8-hour hands-on training develops your capacity in daylight modeling to achieve LEED EQc8.1: Daylighting & Views, Option 1 – Daylight Simulation. LEED 511 will provide an overview of daylight simulation analysis, tools, and accuracy issues and discuss the specific requirements of LEED EQc8.1. Based on this, we will delve into specifications, calculations and assumptions of daylight modeling while addressing the intersection of daylight and energy modeling. Participants will use simulation tools to consider best practices, glare & shading controls. Finally, the training will review results and reporting of modeling data for LEED-Online submittal purposes. Real-life exercises in how to use simulation tools to implement daylight modeling.

Seating is limited to 8 people and registration is first-come, first-serve. Provides 8 GBCI CE hours for LEED Credential Maintenance Program and 8 AIA SD CEU.

LEED 521: Energy Modeling & Using eQuest to Achieve LEED EAc1

This two-day hands-on training develops your capacity in energy modeling to achieve LEED EAc1: Optimize Energy Performance – Whole Building Simulation. LEED 521 will provide an overview of Whole Building Simulation analysis, tools, and accuracy issues and discuss the intent, criteria and methodology of LEED EAc1. There will also be an in-depth discussion of ASHRAE 90.1-2007 Appendix G. Based on this foundation, we will delve into specifications, calculations and assumptions of building energy modeling – from documentation climatic zone, envelope to internal loads, HVAC systems to service hot water systems.  Finally, the training will use building energy modeling to generate a Performance Rating Method Report for LEED EAc1 submittal, generate graphs of ECM’s and their relative energy savings over “baseline,” and complete the LEED Online EAc1 Template. Real-life exercises in how to use software tools to implement energy modeling.

Seating is limited to 8 people and registration is first-come, first-serve. Provides 16 GBCI CE hours for LEED Credential Maintenance Program and 16 AIA SD CEU.

Register for this training on April 20-21.
