Internships

The Green Roundtable offers unpaid internships to higher education students and adults interested in business strategic, management consulting and green building. We ask for a commitment of 16-20 hours per week (flexible schedule) for at least three months. 

We are now accepting application for the Summer 2011 (June-August) internship through April 22nd, 2011. Candidates may be considered after deadline depending on size of applicant pool. Please email us if you have questions: info@greenroundtable.org.

About the Internship

Interns are instrumental in supporting the marketing and business development activities of The Green Roundtable. In exchange, interns will be given opportunities to expand their knowledge of the rapidly growing green building industry, network with industry professionals, attend educational events, and gain valuable professional experiences and skills to add to their resume.

GRT offers unpaid internships to higher education students and adults interested in business strategy, management consulting and green building. We ask for a commitment of 16-20 hours per week (flexible schedule) for at least three months. GRT is currently looking for interns to join us for the Summer 2011 semester, which takes place from June through August.

Interns have done important work in the world of sustainable building and beyond, including working for organizations such as: Urban Green Council (USGBC NYC), Boreal Renewables, Nexamp, Heatspring Learning Institute, ICF, SMMA Architects, Quincy Community Action Programs, Equal Exchange and Sustainable Endowments Institute, as well as graduate programs at Harvard University, Tufts University, Yale University, Boston College, University of Colorado and others.

Specific projects may include:

  • Researching and publishing white papers on best practices and the state of the industry.
  • Developing messaging for email blasts, website and print collateral.
  • Designing print marketing collateral.
  • Coordinate editorial calendar and write blog posts and news releases.
  • Engage with the industry through social media, blog and other online mechanisms.
  • Convening roundtables discussions on topics related to business practice and the green building industry.
  • Establishing partnerships with professional associations, corporations and media.
  • Improve website search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Develop and edit presentations for speaking engagements.
  • Design print and web advertisements about products.
  • Coordinate live and webinar educational events.

  • Availability (the timeframe you could work - start and finish date, number of hours you can work a week and if known, the days of the week you can work).
  • Two professional or academic references.
  • If relevant, two graphic, email or web design samples. A link to an online portfolio is sufficient.

We will make every effort to match candidates with projects according to the unique skills and experiences that they will bring to SPI. After reviewing complete applications, we will contact you in mid April if we would like to set up an interview time.
