What Information Will I Need to Provide?
It will take approximately twenty minutes to complete the submission questionnaire if you are prepared with basic company & project information (where applicable) such as:
Company mission statement
Number of employees
LEED Accreditation info for your employees
Information regarding LEED projects in which your company has been engaged
Links to appropriate web resources for projects/ case studies
Information on your company’s unique sustainability practices such as internal policies, employee benefits, and office strategies.
If you do not have this type of information at hand, you may wish to return to the form when you are more prepared. Please note that your listing will not be posted to the directory until it has been reviewed and approved. We may contact you if we need more complete information for any of your responses. This may delay the processing of your submission.
Does My Company Have to Be Involved in LEED to Participate?
While we do ask specific questions regarding design frameworks that may apply to building projects, such as the USGBC's LEED rating system, involvement in projects that are covered by these design frameworks is not necessary for inclusion in the directory. We encourage all green service providers, at all levels- residential, commercial, etc, to submit a listing.
What Do You Mean by “Green” Service Provider?
A “green service provider” can be any kind of company that provides a service and is devoted to sustainability. The company must be able to demonstrate commitment to sustainability through past projects or contracts, or by using the criteria below. To be approved for listing in this directory, your company needs to:
Provide an inherently green service (e.g. energy auditing, LEED project consulting, low-impact landscaping)
OR
At least two of the following must apply to your company:
green company policies (e.g. green office practices or green commuting benefits)
mission statement that addresses sustainability
operations housed in a green facility
employees with green certifications
publish an annual corporate sustainability report
green affiliation/membership (e.g. USGBC member company)
support environmental nonprofit or sustainability initiative
When Will My Posting Appear on the Website?
We are currently undergoing a website transition. We will post your submission as soon as we are able; it may take up to two weeks depending on the status and progress of our new website and this directory. Thank you for your understanding and patience. We appreciate your participation.
What if My Company’s Info Changes?
It is your responsibility to ensure that your listing is accurate and up to date. Once it is published, you can make updates to your listing at anytime. If you need to update your listing, you may login with the account information provided to you via e-mail upon submitting your listing. Each time you make an update, it will need to be approved by a staff member, which may take up to one week to be processed.
